This is the seating chart I currently use in my elementary music classroom. There are 3 rows of 8 chairs with an aisle down the middle, with students in groups of 4 chairs. There is space to note the class and days they have music at the top of the seating chart.
You can get 35 different seating charts in the Seating Chart Set, including circle, U-shape, row, and rug configurations in multiple class sizes.
Each student has a large space for their name, with 3 boxes above for the behavior management tools I use in my room (S for when the student puts a sticker on the class chart, H for when a student receives a “happy note” for positive behavior, and B for when a student receives a “behavior slip” for negative behavior). I use check marks to keep track of those 3 items. Below their name are several boxes that I use to jot down informal assessments. I will note in an empty space what that box is assessing, and jot down quick notes directly on the seating chart as I observe them for a particular skill. I also use them to note instrument or part assignments when we are working on a performance with different parts over several class periods.
Use the chart as-is or use it as a starting block to create your own version. Because it is a word document it is FULLY EDITABLE!
