Japanese Instrument Listening Unit

$0.00

Use these resources to introduce students to musical instruments from Japan! This is a great unit to tie into other world music studies, instruments of the orchestra, or the science of sound. Students see pictures of instruments and use their knowledge of instruments to describe the instrument and predict what it will sound like. After listening to the instrument, they describe the actual sound and compare it to other instruments, seeing if their predictions were accurate.

You can get the resources to study instruments from Ireland, Brazil, India, Mozambique, and Canada (aboriginal), plus additional slides for the Japanese instruments and an additional worksheet, in the World Instrument Listening Unit

Included in this download:

*Powerpoint slide with visuals of Japan’s flag, map, and several musical instruments, with embedded links to videos of authentic performances of each instrument

*A printable worksheet for students to write their observations of each instrument.

*Teaching notes with additional video links and background information on each instrument included in the file
